About Federal Funds Target Rate - Upper Bound A target interest rate set by the central bank in its efforts to influence short-term interest rates as part of its monetary policy strategy. The Fed Funds futures via the CME FedWatch Tool are now showing odds of 100% that the Fed will do at least a 50 bp rate cut by its March 17-18 meeting next week. The odds are 67% that the federal funds rate will be down by 75 bps by March 18th.
